If you had met me a few years ago, you would have found a corporate mama running on fumes, iced coffee, and sheer determination. I was the ultimate “Miss I Can Do It All” conquering the corporate ladder, surviving school, raising babies, being a wife, and trying to maintain a personality in between. Spoiler alert: God has a funny way of telling us when it’s time to pause.
It took corporate burnout, navigating postpartum, and walking through deep loss to realize a hard but beautiful truth, I am not a superhero. And more importantly? I don’t have to carry the weight of the world to be everything to the people who matter most.
So, I took a step back. I chose to pause, breathe, and simply rest in the Lord.
It was during that intentional season of stillness that I found my peace and discovered my true gifting. Photography started as my own way of slowing down, but it quickly became my passion. Now, I use my lens to help other busy, beautiful families experience that same sense of peace. I want to capture the raw, messy, and magical moments of your life so you can cherish them for years to come.
That is exactly how Selah Chicago was born. Selah is a biblical phrase that means to pause and rest in God’s presence. It is a reminder to stop rushing through the chapters and just enjoy the page we are on.
